Grand Theft Auto III Hijacks its way to PSN Next Week

Earlier this year, news broke that both Grand Theft Auto III and GTA: Vice City would be headed to the PlayStation Store’s library of PS2 classics sometime in the future. Well, that time has finally come, as GTA III has been confirmed to launch on the PSN next Tuesday.

According to the latest episode of the Official PlayStation Blogcast, this classic third installment in Rockstar’s popular open-world franchise will hit the the PlayStation Store on July 31st. The game will be a straight port – so don’t expect any new textures or crisper visuals – and will bear a price tag of $9.99.

If you missed out on this highly influential PS2 title back when it first launched in 2001, you owe it to yourself to give this piece of gaming history a look. Plus, with Grand Theft Auto V on the horizon, there’s no better way to get hyped up for Rockstar’s next entry in the series.
