Two Lead Staffers on BioShock Infinite Leave Irrational

In a surprising turn of events, it looks like the BioShock Infinite team has lost two key members thanks to the departure of both Tim Gerritson and Nate Wells. Gerritson served as the director of product development, while Wells headed up the game’s art direction.

According Gamasutra, the two left Irrational Games within this past month to move onto other pursuits, with Wells reportedly adding Naughty Dog to his list of new employers. Whether or not this proves to be a cause for concern remains to be seen. But this news coupled with the fact that the game has been delayed to early next year, does raise a few red flags.

Studio head Ken Levine addressed the departure of Wells on Twitter, saying, “Scott Sinclair, art director of Bio1, back in the art director’s chair for Infinite to bring it home. Can’t wait to show you what’s cooking.”

BioShock Infinite is set to release on February 26th of next year.
