New Brothers in Arms Title in the Works at Gearbox

Gearbox head Randy Pitchford shared a bit of news on the future of the Brothers in Arms franchise, making it clear that the studio has not abandoned the series. A while back Brothers in Arms: Furious 4 was announced, but has since dropped the franchise branding, leaving many to wonder if Gearbox plans to move forward with the series at all.

In an interview with IGN, Pitchford explained that both Furious 4 and a new unannounced Brothers in Arms title are currently underway.

The hallmarks of the Brothers in Arms series are about authenticity, squad combat, brotherhood between soldiers. I mean we really commit to and have a tremendous amount of deference in the Brothers in Arms games.

Pitchford went on to explain that Furious 4 simply doesn’t fit into the Brothers in Arms mold, so they’ve decided to take it in a different direction. But they haven’t forgotten about the beloved military series. “For what Brothers in Arms is meant to be, we love that too, and we do have some creative effort going on there that will lead eventually to a project that we’ll announce at some point,” he added.
