Today at the Eurogamer Expo, the Metal Gear mastermind Hideo Kojima revealed the role of his newly opened studio in Los Angeles. The KojiPro LA branch will be focused on the online portion of his next Metal Gear Solid game.
VG247 notes that Mr. Kojima was particularly ambiguous on exactly what title it would be for, leaving us to wonder whether he is referencing Ground Zeroes or Metal Gear Solid 5 proper. Either way, it’s likely going to be a very long time before we hear more about what this online component will entail.
Of course, that won’t stop us from speculating. Kojima did emphasize that Ground Zeroes would be open world when he first revealed the game. Could the title possibly feature some sort of persistant online open world with varying stealth missions? I just hope that it doesn’t end up being the same Metal Gear Online mode that was tacked on to MGS4.
