Nomura Comments on the Plausibility of Kingdom Hearts 2 HD

Looking forward to playing Kingdom Hearts in high definition? It has been a long time coming, and we still have yet to hear anything about a release outside of Japan, but it is hard to imagine Square not releasing Kingdom Hearts 1.5 HD Remix in North America and Europe.

Bundled with the original game, Re: Chain of Memories, the compilation is clearly lacking Kingdom Hearts 2. When asked about the game’s absence by Famitsu (via Gematsu), Kingdom Hearts director Tetsuya Nomura didn’t confirm that it is in the works, but teased the high probability that it’s on its way.

The outlet asked, “Is there gonna be a high-definition version of Kingdom Hearts II later?” to which Nomura replied by saying, “It’d be unusual if there wasn’t.”

However, it is best to keep your expectations in check, especially considering the fact that this is coming from the same man who has been stringing us along with Final Fantasy Versus XIII for over six years.
