Next Piece of Mass Effect 3 DLC has “High Potential for Tears”

With all of BioWare’s best writers at the helm, it looks like the next piece of Mass Effect 3 downloadable content has the potential to be quite the tearjerker.

Over on the studio’s official forum (via Eurogamer), game designer Jos Hendriks teased the next unannounced DLC pack that will expand the story of Shepard. “It’s all hands on deck for this one. Pretty much every ME3 DLC writer here in Edmonton is involved,” Hendriks said, adding that there are about eight writers currently in on the project.

After his absence from both the Omega and Leviathan DLC, series composer Sam Hulick will be back to work on the next expansion’s soundtrack. In a Tweet he said, “What I’m up to lately: working on an unannounced Mass Effect 3 DLC! More details on this coming later on.” He also went on to add: “Tossing in piano and muted strings for this one particular piece. High potential for tears.”

The first two story add-ons to Mass Effect 3 were a bit underwhelming, so here’s hoping that this next expansion truly delivers.
