The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct Gets Priced at $50 by GameStop, Wal-Mart

Just one day after the March 26th release date of The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct was announced, retailers have now priced the game at $50, $10 lower than the industry standard. The biggest stores offering this price right now are GameStop and Wal-Mart, with Amazon likely to join them soon.

Now, before you jump to any conclusions, there’s a few possible reasons for the price drop, which we’ve put below:

1. They wanted the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions to be priced the same as the newly announced Wii U version.

2. They did this in similar fashion to Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time, wherein they realize the market is tough, and they want it to have a chance when it releases on the same day as BioShock Infinite, Tiger Woods PGA Tour 14, and Army of Two: The Devil’s Cartel.

3. The confidence in the game is low, leading to a $10 price drop.

4. Select retailers have decided to drop the price of the game to increase pre-orders.

Whatever the case, if you want to pick up Survival Instinct you currently only need to pay $50 when you buy it from GameStop or Wal-Mart.
