It’s been about 10 years since the last Legacy of Kain game was released in the form of Legacy of Kain: Defiance for the PS2. Square Enix may be looking to bring new life to the franchise if a recently discovered domain registration is anything to go by. On February 7th, warfornosgoth.com was acquired by Square Enix. Fans of the series will recognize Nosgoth as the world that houses Legacy of Kain and Blood Omen.
To help add some wight to these rumors, a storyboard has made it’s way onto the internet which is reportedly related to Legacy of Kain.
According to Superannuation, the storyboard was posted by artist Richard Buxton, titled “Legacy of Kain videogame animation pitch” and was commissioned on behalf of a company called Passion Pictures in 2011.
The War for Nosgoth is part of the Legacy of Kain mythology and takes place prior to the events of any of the existing games, which means that this could either be referencing a prequel, or as is far more often found these days, a reboot of the franchise from the very beginning.
