First Diablo III PlayStation Screenshots Shown, PS3 Version to be Playable at PAX East

During the PlayStation meeting, we were told that there was a good chance we’ll be playing the recently announced PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 version of Diablo III at PAX East in Boston from March 22nd – 24th. Blizzard has since clarified this by saying that we will see Diablo III at PAX East, but it is only going to be playable on PlayStation 3.

Blizzard promises that Diablo III on PlayStation will have an all-new user interface, intuitive control scheme, dynamic camera perspective, all of the latest PC upgrades (Paragon leveling system, customizable Monster Power, Brawling, etc.), as well as four player online and local co-op modes.

For your first glimpse of what the game looks like, Blizzard posted a few screenshots of Diablo III on Battle.net:

Mike Morhaime, CEO and Co-Founder of Blizzard, also talked about Diablo III spreading to PlayStation consoles:

Diablo III looks and plays great on the PlayStation. We put a lot of care and thought into the PlayStation version to make sure it would deliver an authentic Diablo gaming experience, and we’re really pleased with the results. We can’t wait for players to try it out at PAX East.
