Quantic Dream’s Next Game is in Development for PS4, Beyond: Two Souls is “Pushing the PS3 to its Last Resorts”

Beyond: Two Souls may be 7 months away, but Quantic Dream is already looking to the future and their next project, which is in development on the PlayStation 4.

Speaking to Eurogamer, Guillaume de Fondaumière, co-CEO of Quantic Dream, revealed that the game is going to be story and character driven, something they’re known for, while also adding that “innovation is part of our DNA. We’ve never duplicated ourselves. We never clone ourselves or other people’s projects; we always try to create unique experiences. For us, a new console is another reason to try and innovate. What is certain is that whatever we’re working on on PS4 is not going to resemble what we’re doing on PS3… We’re going to try and reinvent ourselves.”

Guillaume then went on to confirm that the PlayStation Move wouldn’t be utilized in Beyond: Two Souls because they “can do everything we need to be doing with the DualShock controller.” You also won’t find 3D in Two Souls , due to the game “pushing the PS3 to its last resorts” and “it would be impossible to keep the same quality and have it rendered in 3D.”

As for the possibility of seeing it on another platform, he answered a question about Beyond: Two Souls being “only PlayStation 3?” by saying, “So far, yes.”

What do you think Quantic Dream is planning to do on the PS4? A sequel to Heavy Rain or Beyond: Two Souls? Something entirely new? Let us know in the comments below.
