PS4 Console Takes up Half of the Top 10 Amazon List, PlayStation Products Take up 9, Xbox One

June 15, 2013 Written by Sebastian Moss

When you talk to anyone who devotes a lot of time to reading news and following what’s happening in the games industry, it’s clear who ‘won E3′. But, just as most of the internet bashes Call of Duty and loves cult hits, internet success doesn’t always translate into sales.

For Sony, however, it does.

Over on Amazon – the world’s biggest online retailer – PlayStation is dominating their best sellers list for games. 9 out of the top 10 Amazon Games bestsellers list are PlayStation products, including 5 PS4 Consoles (one of which is sold out), The Last of Us, $20 on PSN, Watch Dogs for PS4 and a DualShock 4 controller. The other product is the Xbox One. Here’s the top 10:

  1. PlayStation 4 Standard Edition
  2. Xbox One Console – Day One Edition
  3. PlayStation 4 Launch Day Edition
  4. The Last of Us (PS3)
  5. PlayStation 4 Watch Dogs Launch Day Bundle
  6. PlayStation 4 Battlefield 4 Launch Day Bundle
  7. $20 PlayStation Network Card
  8. PlayStation 4 Killzone Launch Day Bundle
  9. DualShock 4 Controller
  10. Watch Dogs (for PS4)

Outside the top 10, it keeps on going – 5 more of the top 20 are PS4 games/codes/hardware, compared to 3 that are Xbox related.

The resulting success has led to Sony increasing their sales projections, caused Amazon to order more stock and Tretton to be really happy.

The PlayStation brand seems to be rebounding, with unrivaled success, consoles selling out and tons of top ten best selling products in multiple regions. Do you think Sony can keep it up as we approach launch? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
