Double Eleven and Q Games Bringing PixelJunk Monsters Ultimate HD to Vita

Yesterday we learned that Double Eleven, the studio behind LittleBigPlanet Vita, had started a publishing partnership with Q Games. Today, one of the first games to come from that relationship will be PixelJunk Monsters Ultimate HD, an upgraded version of the 2008 PSN tower defense title. In addition to other improvements, PixelJunk Monsters Ultimate HD will include the Encore DLC, touch controls, and some trophies unique to PS Vita.

Speaking with Eurogamer, Double Eleven’s founder, Lee Hutchinson, talked about working with Sony and bringing the title to Vita.

We work with Shahid [Ahmad, forefront of SCE’s indie push] in London, and to a certain extent if we go to Vita first we can get funding from Sony. We’ve got the code base so it’s easy for us to get the game running on it. Sony get a small exclusive window on it, so they’re happy, we get funded, so we’re happy. The exclusive window is only ever implied, and it’s never contractual. It’s always shorter than you could get another version out anyway.

PixelJunk Monsters Ultimate HD will be releasing this summer for the Vita, and then later on for PC and Mac.

Are you excited for PixelJunk Monsters Ultimate HD? What other Q Games titles do you hope come to Vita? Let us know in the comments.
