Gran Turismo 6 Demo, GT Academy 2013 Available Now in Europe and North America, Intention is to Have the Demo Unplayable After August 31st

The day is finally here as the Gran Turismo 6 demo is now available on the European PSN, with the North American version going live just now, which you can view on the web store if you’d like.

According to the PlayStation Store, you can expect the download (search GT Academy 2013) to take up 1GB, with GT Academy 2013 running until July 28th, and the demo itself staying live until August 31st.

Here’s what you can expect from the demo, which takes place on the Silverstone track:

  • A quick tutorial that includes tips and tricks on the controls and navigating around the track
  • Four warm-up races using two Nissan cars, the LEAF and 370Z
  • Five time trials on the Silverstone track driving the Nissan 370Z, four of which take place on various sections of the track, and one being the full lap. That one full lap time becomes the entry time for GT Academy. Enter as often as you like before 3:59pm Pacific Time on July 28th.
  • Clear all five trails with greater than a bronze medal to receive a special 15 year anniversary bonus race event, which will show up in the demo after July 28th.

For a little bit more information on the demo, Penrose Tackie, European Brand Manager, took to the PS Blog and answered whether the demo is only available till end August, or if it will disappear altogether:

The intention is that demo would end in August and would not be playable after that time.

If they decide to extend the life of the demo, we’ll be sure to let you know.
