In case you weren’t able to snag a beta code for Killzone: Mercenary during the PlayStation Home E3 event and want to play the multiplayer prior to launch, Sony has begun early access beta sign ups.

As this is a closed beta, participation isn’t guaranteed, so make sure you head over to the European and North American beta sign up pages before 2PM PST/5PM PST/10PM BST on Wednesday, July 17th to submit your name. If chosen, you’ll then receive an email with instructions on how to get started.

For a synopsis of the multiplayer in Mercenary, here’s what Mark Green, Senior Producer at Guerrilla Cambridge had to say:

Mercenary’s multiplayer suite will provide players with a diverse range of weapons, grenades, armor, and special VAN-Guard devices enabling the player to customize their multiplayer load-out slots. This customization supports the tactical element of the game – will you armor yourself up and go in like a tank, or take a more precise approach and assassinate enemies stealthily?

For a bit of a laugh, make sure you read the very outdated Beta Agreement, which says you need a PS2 in order to participate.
