Angry Birds Star Wars Confirmed for PS3 & PS Vita, Includes 20 Exclusive Levels and Multiplayer

Yesterday, we broke that Angry Birds Star Wars was listed as coming to consoles and handhelds, with Activision confirming this news today. The game will launch on October 29th for the PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita, Xbox 360, Wii, Wii U, and 3DS for $39.99 ($29.99 on 3DS, $49.99 on Wii U), and only includes the first Angry Birds Star Wars, not the second one.

In order to justify the massive price hike, you’ll find 20 new and exclusive levels, the 200 existing levels from Angry Birds Star Wars, Trophy support, leaderboards, motion controls, unlockable bonus levels, items and content, as well as a multiplayer mode. With this, you can work together in 2 player co-op to get a combined high score, or you can challenge other people in an up to 4 player competitive mode.

Speaking about Angry Birds Star Wars coming to consoles and handhelds, Jami Laes, Executive Vice President of Games at Rovio, said:

Downloaded more than 100 million times since its release last year, Angry Birds Star Wars melds together two of the biggest names in pop-culture entertainment for an out of this galaxy gaming experience. Angry Birds and Star Wars are franchises with millions of fans around the world and we’re excited to partner with Activision to bring the marriage of these beloved properties to gamers everywhere this holiday season.
