SEGA Brand Manager Hasn’t Heard Anything About a Skies of Arcadia HD Version

Last we heard about a possible Skies of Arcadia HD was last year when they renewed the game’s trademark and rumors began to fly that they were working on an HD version. Things have been quiet ever since, but more than a few people brought the possible HD version up to Aaron Webber, Associate Brand Manager at Sega of America, on the PS Blog.

If, like me, you’re wondering what an Associate Brand Manager is, Mia Putrino, a fellow Associate Brand Manager at Sega of America, posted on her LinkedIn that she is “currently overseeing the marketing campaigns of upcoming digital titles as an Associate Brand Manager at Sega of America.” So, the job mostly seems to be dealing with digital titles, which Skies of Arcadia HD would most likely be.

Back to Aaron, he told someone who had asked about Skies of Arcadia HD that he hadn’t “heard anything to that effect, sorry! Personally, I’m a huge Skies fan though. If you haven’t already, be sure to check out Valkyria Chronicles (PS3) as Vyse, Aika, and Fina all make cameo appearances there.”

As well, he answered a similar Skies of Arcadia HD question by saying, “Skies HD… ah, we can dream, right?” Yes we can, Aaron. Yes. We. Can.

Webber also said, “It’s too early to say” when asked about a western release for Project Diva F 2nd, there’s “no news” when it comes to Phantasy Star Online 2’s release date in North America and Europe, he has “no news” on Yakuza 5, and there’s also “no news” on a Vita version of Project Diva F coming to the west.

Do Aaron’s words about Skies of Arcadia HD dampen your hopes that it’s actually going to happen? Let us know in the comments below.
