  • Mark Rubin of Infinity Ward explains why they do background fixes in Call of Duty: “We’re making changes that they don’t know about because we want to see the changes happen without [affecting] people’s sort of free perceptions on what they think has happened, so sometimes we stealth in changes to design and see how they react.” “Without saying ‘hey we just did this, what do you think?’ and we’ll get responses ‘oh it’s tons better’ or ‘oh my god, it’s so much worse, you broke it’.
