Thanks to the Mega Pack that released earlier this year, Sony is reporting PlayStation Vita sales having increased over 100% over the summer in the UK, with Fergal Gara, VP & Managing Director at SCE UK and Ireland, talking with MCV UK about the good news:
Vita had a good summer, the Mega Pack is one of the things that has boosted performance by more than 100 per cent. It’s now in growth year-on-year. And you’ve seen several pieces of news at Gamescom which will only help. So that means we can feel optimistic.
The process of trying to drive costs down on Vita has happened just as it’s lining up to be a fantastic companion to PS4. Our optimism around Vita is growing.
With the NPD results for August coming later this month, it will be interesting to see how much the PlayStation Vita price drop to $199 affected the US sales, so stay tuned for those results.
