Japanese Sales Charts: PlayStation Vita Drops Below 8,000, Killzone: Mercenary and Puppeteer Below 11,000 Each

In a rare twist of fate, 3DS games aren’t completely dominating the top 20 selling games in Japan, with PlayStation games taking up the first five spots. Unfortunately, aside from a PSP game, none of those games in the top five did amazingly well, with Splinter Cell: Blacklist in second place at 22,425.

Other new releases include Killzone: Mercenary in 8th with just over 11,000 sold and Puppeteer at 8,900, while the PlayStation Vita itself dropped yet again, this time ending up with slightly more than 7,300 unit sales. The PS3 did much better (but still dropped) at 13,790 and the PSP did 5,493.

Here’s the top 20 selling games in Japan between September 2nd – 8th, according to Media Create:

  8. Killzone: Mercenary (PSV) – 11,053
  9. Disney Magic Castle: My Happy Life (3DS) – 10,740
  10. Youkai Watch (3DS) – 9,539
  11. Ragnarok Odyssey Ace (PSV) – 9,383
  12. Puppeteer (PS3) – 8,900
