Sony “Will be Working Very Closely” With Ubisoft and Retailers Regarding Watch Dogs PS4 Bundles, Amazon Gives an Update

With news coming today that Watch Dogs will no longer be a launch title for the PS4, it leaves the fate of everyone who pre-ordered a Watch Dogs PS4 bundle or Xbox One bundle up in the air.

In a statement following the delay Sony (via Videogamer) said, “Obviously this is [a] very recent announcement, but we will be working very closely both with Ubisoft and with our partners at retail to manage this situation.”

Ubisoft (via Kotaku) was less than helpful when it comes to the bundles though, with their statement reading, “Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo understand the importance of releasing games of the very highest quality for their consoles. Our partnership with Sony remains strong and we will have more details to share about the specific benefits of this partnership for PlayStation customers at a later date.”

For a little more information on exactly what that meant, they were asked if people should just cancel their pre-orders, to which Ubisoft responded, “We hope that players who have pre-ordered the game will still look forward to playing it in Spring 2014, and that the extra polish and quality we’ll be able to add to the game will ensure a fantastic gaming experience.”

As well, Amazon gave out some details via their Twitter account by saying, “Don’t worry if you pre-ordered the Watch Dogs PS4 bundle, you will still be getting your PS4 based on your current delivery estimate. More details if you pre-ordered the PS4 Watch Dogs bundle coming soon, just know that your console pre-order is still safe!”

Despite Ubisoft’s very vague answer, at the very least it does sound like Sony is working on a solution for those that will be affected due to the delay. If they do figure something out, we’ll let you know what it is.
