VGAs Renamed VGX: Airs on Saturday, December 7th, Expect World Premiere Game Trailers and More

Instead of going with the tried and true VGAs abbreviation for this year’s video game award show on Spike TV, they’ve decided to call it the VGX, “a brand new live digital multi-platform event that is a binge-viewers dream for gamers.”

Airing for three hours on Saturday, December 7th starting at 3PM PST/6PM EST, Spike believes they have the potential for VGX to “be the most widely distributed live gaming event of all time,” possibly reaching over 100 million households.

You can watch VGX streamed on PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, Twitch, iOS and Android devices, and available globally on VGXLIVE.com, Hulu, Yahoo Screen, the Yahoo Screen app, Spike.com, ComedyCentral.com, MTV.com, MTV2.com, BET.com and GameTrailers.com. There will also be a highlight show called VGX Replay airing on Monday, December 9th at midnight.

Along with world premiere game trailer being shown off during the event, there will also be extended demos of the next generation of games, 1-on-1 interviews and panels. An interactive element via Twitter will allow you to vote on show order and unlock additional content.

To help influence one of the awards, you can now vote on Most Anticipated Game through the VGX website. Nominess include Destiny, Titanfall, South Park: The Stick of Truth, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, and Watch Dogs.
