EA Hints at Future Titanfalls Possibly Coming to Other Consoles “At Some Point”

Disappointing PlayStation fans, EA announced that Titanfall was going to be an Xbox/PC exclusive, with a PS3 or PS4 version never happening. This didn’t mean a Titanfall sequel wouldn’t eventually come to PlayStation, with Respawn Co-Founder saying the Titanfall exclusivity extended to “just this release.”

Explaining a little bit behind their reasoning for making Titanfall an Xbox console exclusive, and also teasing that Titanfall may expand to more systems in the future, was EA CFO Blake Jorgensen:

[…] So obviously it’s the first title that’s committed to a single platform. That’s a process that’s been done through the industry for many years – there is a lot of single platform titles. Obviously, you work with the first parties to make sure the economics make sense for all sizes and we made that decision on Titanfall.

Obviously, it’s a very exciting product; people are really, really waiting for it. We haven’t seen anything quite this exciting in the industry in a long time. The Respawn team has done an amazing job, they really have talented group of people, and we’ll find, I’m sure, that there will be future Titanfall’s at some point that may be on multiple product platforms… That’s up to the teams that are going through that now, but at the end of the day, we’re excited about this Titanfall and we think it will be a big title and it will be great for Xbox One.

Do you think Sony should do everything they can to make sure Titanfall 2 appears on the PS4? Let us know in the comments below.
