Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII Japanese Voice-Over Pack DLC to be Free at Launch

When Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII comes out next year, Square Enix will release the Japanese Voice-Over Pack free of charge for the first two weeks after launch. Once those two weeks are over, they will begin charging for the DLC.

With the Japanese Voice-Over Pack, you’ll receive the original Japanese voice-overs, as well as lip-synching that differs from the English-language voice track already included with the game, “to ensure a more natural and localized game experience.”

To celebrate the game’s release in Japan, Square Enix brought out this Special Effects Trailer (they note that the trailer utilizes technology not featured in the final product):

Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII releases for the PS3 and Xbox 360 on February 11th in North America and February 14th in Europe. For more Final Fantasy, the Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster is out for PS3 on March 18th in North America and March 21st in Europe. More information about the PS Vita version is expected soon.
