The Catch-Up: January 8th, 2014 – Haley Joel Osment on Kingdom Hearts 3: Likely Playing Sora, Recording is “This Summer or Later”

  • Haley Joel Osment, who plays Sora in the Kingdom Hearts series, recently said in an interview that he talked to “them” (Square Enix) following the Kingdom Hearts 3 announcement, adding, “They’re making it now and the recording of the dialogue is one of the last parts of the process. Probably this summer or later [is when recording will happen].” Osment also revealed if he thinks he’ll be voicing Sora: “That’s what I hear. Sometimes Sora goes back to being a child or goes to another universe or changes into somebody else so I can never say for sure, but hopefully I’ll be back.” [Source]
  • The team behind Alien: Isolation said the game “will run in 1080p on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One,” and later clarifying, “Definitely aiming for native 1080p.” As well, expect the game to be available at retail and through digital download on day 1. [Via, Twitter 1, 2, 3]
  • You’ll have to take this as a big rumor right now, but people are reporting that an apparent Steam database leak showed Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate HD, an HD version of the PS Vita/3DS title released last year. With Assassin’s Creed Liberation HD coming to consoles this month, if Blackgate HD is a thing, it will likely make the jump to PS3/Xbox 360 as well. Stay tuned. [Via, Source]
  • Hotline Miami 2 may still be “months off,” but it’s been revealed that the game is up and running on PS4 and PS Vita right now, with the DualShock 4’s light bar glowing “fancy colors when you kill people.” [Twitter 1, 2]
  • In a new tweet today, Hideo Kojima said of Metal Gear Solid V, “Voice of Donna-san comes out from the speaker in DualShock 4 controller.” [Twitter]

  • GameStop USA’s weekly ad shows Call of Duty: Ghosts on PS3 and Xbox 360 for $39.99, the Turtle Beach P4C PS4 headset for $24.99, and Bandfuse: Rock Legends for $39.99. [Check It Out]

  • Provided things go smoothly, Dragon Fantasy: Book I and Book II will be released in Europe within the month. Certain details are still pending, but they will be releasing the two games separately and as a bundle. [Source]
  • The existence of Tales From Space: Mutant Blobs Attack coming to PlayStation 3 was listed in a now deleted post (and no update has been made), but PEGI has rated the game on PS3, so it seems that it’s maybe coming soonish? [Source]
  • Set for release on February 11th, you can now pre-order a DualShock 3 from GameStop based on Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII. It’s electric! [Source]
  • Amazon.com has listed Rambo: The Video Game for release on February 18th in North America on PS3, while Nascar ’14 was also given a PS3 release date of February 18th in North America by them. We’ll have to wait for confirmation on both dates before they’re official. [Amazon 1, 2]
