Playa Vista sounds like the perfect place for them to start making some PlayStation Vita games. Just sayin’…

General News

  • It turns out that video chronicling life at Sony Santa Monica is outdated as the developer will be moving their studio a few miles south to Playa Vista. Don’t worry, the name ‘Sony Santa Monica’ will stay, and this new building “dramatically increases the size of our open floor plan.” Their new digs will also have a state-of-the-art recording studio and cutting-edge motion capture facility, which will be used by Naughty Dog as well. • With Octodad: Dadliest Catch set to release on PS4 in March, Young Horses has confirmed that it will support drop-in, drop-out local co-op for 2-4 players, with each person controlling a set of limbs. Although there won’t be online co-op, you can also expect a 4-player Roulette mode where the body part you’re controlling will be randomly switched after completing an objective. [Source]
  • According to Omelete’s sources, The Last of Us 2 is already in development and will be released in 2015 for the PlayStation 4. Since The Last of Us hasn’t even been out for a year and the Left Behind DLC is still forthcoming, this seems unlikely, but stranger things have happened, right? When reached for comment Sony said, “We do not comment on rumor or speculation.” [Via 1, 2]
  • Speaking of The Last of Us, Jawad Ashraf of the EU PlayStation Store team said Left Behind would “support pre-load.” If true, you’ll be able to download the file before release on February 14th and have it unlock when it’s officially released. [Source]
  • AbleGamers handed out their 2013 Accessibility Awards yesterday, with Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn winning Accessible Mainstream Game of the Year. The Stanley Parable also took home Best Accessible Indie Game of the Year. [Via, Source]
  • It’s been some time since we’ve heard about Shadow Warrior on the PS4, but development has started and the game is up and “partially” running right now. Hopefully we don’t have to wait too long for this one. [Twitter]
  • With the Killzone: Shadow Fall clan features set to go live very soon, you can now register your clan and clan tag on the game’s website. [Here's How to do It]
  • BlazBlue: Chrono Phantasma will be out in less than two months, and Aksys has announced that pre-ordering the game from Amazon or GameStop will get you a free DLC code for Yuuki Terumi. [Source]
  • Remember that sale on Persona 2: Eternal Punishment and Persona 3 FES at $4.99 each that was supposed to happen this week on the North American PSN? “Our apologies! The Persona games will go on sale the week of 2/04.” [Twitter]
  • Update 1.37 is now available for War Thunder on PS4. Still no word on a North American release date for the game though… [Twitter]
  • EB Games locations in Ontario and Quebec should be getting PS4s today, with Manitoba, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and PEI getting some tomorrow. [Twitter]
  • Here’s some new screenshots for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt [Twitter]:
