PS4 Sells 181,000 Units in Spain Since Launch; PS4 Outselling Xbox One 5:1 on Average, Says PS Spain CEO

Following some interesting UK PS4 vs. Xbox One sales data revealed yesterday by Fergal Gara, the ES PS Blog spoke with James Armstrong, PlayStation Spain CEO, where he revealed that the PS4 in Spain has sold 181,000 units since November 29th, according to GfK data. The 181,000 reported today is up from the 134,000 in late December.

If you were to add in all the PS4s being shipped to Spain before next Saturday, the total will be 205,000. However, stock issues are hitting Spain (like the rest of the world), and if it wasn’t for these, Armstrong believes the PS4 would be at about 250,000 units by now.

Looking at the PS4 vs. Xbox One sales battle in Spain, Armstrong says the average has been 5:1 in favor of the PS4, but during the week of December 9th to 16th it was 15:1 for the PS4 (stock availability may have played a role in that though)!

In terms of PS4 games, FIFA 14 and Killzone: Shadow Fall are said to be the 2 best-selling titles in Spain during the first two months, with Knack, Call of Duty: Ghosts, NBA 2K14, Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, and Battlefield 4 all highlighted as being “very well received.”

As for the PS3, the system sold over 100,000 units during the holiday period and is at 2.7 million lifetime in Spain, with Gran Turismo 6 moving 95,000 copies so far in the region.
