Not wanting to let the rumor fester, Sega addressed an image that came from a Nuremberg toy fair, which suggested a new Sonic game would be headed to the Wii U, PS4, and Xbox One in 2015.
The Sega spokesperson had this to say (via Eurogamer):
Sega is yet to announce details of upcoming console video games for Sonic the Hedgehog or further details regarding the new Sonic CG TV series. The recent information coming out of Nuremburg Toy Fair was incorrect.

Since Sega and Nintendo have an exclusivity deal for three Sonic titles, which already has two with Sonic: Lost World and Mario & Sonic at the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games, don’t be surprised if the next Sonic game is on Wii U/3DS.
