The Last of Us Dominates the D.I.C.E. Awards, Takes Home 10 Victories

If you’re a member of the Naughty Dog team who worked on The Last of Us, last night was a great one for you because the game took home 10 wins at the 17th Annual D.I.C.E. Awards.

Martin Rae, President of the Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences, had this to say of The Last of Us’ triumphs:

Tonight’s big winner, The Last of Us, is a prime example of how today’s modern video game studios expertly blend art, game play, and storytelling to transcend the traditional notion of video games. This year’s winners range from deep, story-driven epics and massive interactive worlds to realistic sports action and engaging mobile experiences. They paint a broad picture of the new golden age we’re currently experiencing in the video game industry.

Creative Director Neil Druckmann said after the wins, “Oh man. 10 awards. Congrats to all the dogs. I’m super lucky to be working with all of you.” Game Director Bruce Straley added, “Amazed, blown away, blessed, baffled, guilty, honored, & slightly incontinent over the 10 awards the Dogs got tonight at AIAS!”
