Assassin’s Creed V Won’t Take Place in Japan During the Samurai Age, Says Jade Raymond

There may be rumors flying about the location of the next Assassin’s Creed game (which should be revealed by Ubisoft soon), but giving us a definitive answer as to where it won’t be taking place is Jade Raymond, Ubisoft Toronto’s MD.

Raymond talked about Assassin’s Creed in an interview with Adweek, where she confirmed that the next Assassin’s Creed title won’t take place in Japan during the samurai age, but rather in her favorite historical era. She unfortunately wouldn’t give out any hints about what her favorite era is, with Raymond only talking about how they approach a franchise:

When we’re building a franchise, we’re thinking of a whole universe and how we’re developing a meta-story that could live on for many years in games and TV. If the story has nowhere to go, then you end up with the video game equivalent of The Matrix 2 or something where it’s never going to be quite as genius.

Where do you think the next Assassin’s Creed game will take place? Russia? Let us know in the comments below.
