PS4 Sells Over 320,000 Units in Japan During Launch Weekend

Unsurprisingly, the PlayStation 4 had a successful launch in Japan over the weekend, with Famitsu (via Siliconera) reporting that the system moved 322,083 during Saturday and Sunday. Comparing the PS4 to other consoles, the Wii U had a launch of 308,570 in its first weekend, the PS3 sold just 88,443 during its first two days, and the PS2 sold a blistering 630,552 units on its first two days.

By combining the Japanese sales to the 5.3 million PS4s sold worldwide as of February 8th, we know the PS4 has sold at least 5.6 million units so far.

Be sure to check back tomorrow for the Japanese sales charts, where we’ll find out how well the various PS4 titles performed during launch week.
