The Swapper is Releasing on PS4, PS3, and PS Vita in May 2014; PS4 Version Runs at 60fps

Curve Studios’ final game announcement in their month of new PlayStation announcements is The Swapper from Facepalm Games. Released on PC in 2013 to much acclaim, The Swapper is coming to PS4, PS3, and PS Vita in May 2014, complete with Cross Buy and Cross Saves. Curve Studios will be handling the PlayStation port, with a price for The Swapper yet to be announced.

Here’s The Swapper’s Steam launch trailer from last year:

Taking place on a damaged space station and research facility called Theseus, The Swapper allows you to create up to four clones of yourself and switch between them at will in order to solve puzzles.

Curve Digital MD Jason Perkins had this to say about The Swapper:

The Swapper highlights everything great about modern indie games – It’s polished, its mechanics seem simple but provide a great deal of depth, and it touches on themes and narratives that triple-A games rarely explore.

The Swapper designer and developer Olli Harjole added:

The reception of the Swapper blew me away when we launched on PC last year, and it’s really exciting to be able to launch the game to a brand new group of gamers on PlayStation.

Over on the PS Blog, Rob Clarke of Curve talked about the differences of the PS4 and PS3 versions:

The PS4 version will run at 60 FPS and has lots of graphic enhancements – some of them are very slight, like depth-of-field, but overall the PS4 version takes real advantage of the system for graphics.
