CounterSpy Finally Confirmed for PS4, Out This Summer

Despite being listed for the PS4 since last year, developer Dynamighty never actually confirmed the existence of CounterSpy on PS4 – until today. Giving it a release date of Summer 2014, Dynamighty revealed that CounterSpy is coming to the PS4, in addition to PS3, PS Vita, iOS, and Android.

Not confirming whether or not this would include Cross Buy, Creative Director David Nottingham did say that the mobile and PlayStation versions of the game will be able to link up:

One of the features that we think you will like with the mobile version, is the ability to link it with the PS4, PS3 or PS Vita version to share progress across all devices. Certain intelligence that you gather gets shared across the devices, so that for example, you can unlock weapons on your console that are then available on your mobile device.

Nottingham later added, “I think the extra power of PlayStation 4 is going to open up some really nice possibilities for us. At the same time, we remain super committed to the PlayStation 3 and PS Vita platforms (the game is looking great on both those platforms) as well as mobile.”

Here’s the official game description as well:

Combining the spy mythology and bold aesthetics of the 1950’s and 1960’s and set during the Cold War, CounterSpy focuses on the rogue third spy agency, C.O.U.N.T.E.R., that keeps the world’s super powers at bay. Just as each side of the ongoing conflict gets close to unleashing a blow of earthshaking proportions, C.O.U.N.T.E.R. jumps into action, stealthily sabotaging their dastardly plans and deceptively maintaining world peace.
