PlayStation Update Delay due to “Technical Issues”; Will Continue to Target 2PM PT on Tuesdays

As we all know, the PlayStation Store in North America didn’t update until late Thursday this week, which is two days after the usual PlayStation Store update. Giving us a reasoning behind the delay, PlayStation Store Director Grace Chen said on the PS Blog:

Sincere apologies for the delayed publish on this week’s PlayStation Store Update; we faced some technical issues that prevented us from getting all of this week’s content in place by our usual 2:00PM Pacific timing. We are grateful for your patience, and we can’t wait until you get your hands on some of this week’s amazing new titles, like TowerFall Ascension and Dark Souls II. Game on!

Grace Chen then continued in the comments by saying, “We’ll continue to target Tuesday at 2PM Pacific for each week’s PS Store update, and we’ll let you know via @PlayStation on Twitter if that ever changes.”

With certain games like TowerFall: Ascension and Vessel showing up in the PlayStation Store at full price for PlayStation Plus members before Thursday, any PS+ members who paid full price for those (or any other items that didn’t receive a PS+ discount until Thursday) are advised to contact Customer Service for a refund.

Elsewhere, Kristine Steimer confirmed that $59.99 games work in the Spend $60, Get $10 Back promotion that is currently running through March 18th, so you can pre-order inFamous: Second Son in the US and still get the $10 credit.

Have you had a chance to play TowerFall: Ascension yet? What do you think of it? Let us know in the comments below.
