Report: The Last of Us is Releasing on PS4 This Summer (Update: Sony’s Response)

Update: When Sony was contacted for a statement about The Last of Us coming to PS4 (via Joystiq), they didn’t confirm or deny Sulun’s comment, just saying instead:

At no time have we announced that The Last of Us is coming to PS4 and therefore, have nothing to say on the subject.

Original Story: According to Sercan Sulun, PlayStation’s Eurasian Software Marketing Manager since August 2012, The Last of Us will be releasing on PS4 this Summer with enhanced graphics and the Left Behind DLC expansion pack.

This news comes from a video interview with CNN Turk (around the 36 minute mark), with IGN posting this translation of what Sulun said:

“There is no information about a new The Last of Us game, but I can share this knowledge: as of this Summer, The Last of Us will be on the PS4. Both on PSN and physically.”

“The PS4 version will also include the DLC so you will be able to play Left Behind as well.”

Previously, Naughty Dog has said of The Last of Us possibly coming to PS4: “It’s something where we can have a feel of where the demand is, and where our time is best spent. It’s something that we’ll figure out as we move forward.”

Sony has yet to issue a statement addressing this report, but when they do, we’ll let you know all about it.

Do you think The Last of Us is coming to PS4 this Summer? Or do you think Sulun was just referencing a PS3 Game of the Year Edition with Left Behind? Let us know in the comments below.
