Analyst: PS Vita Sold a Little Over 10,000 Units in the US During March 2014

For a few more details about the March 2014 NPD results, analyst David Gibson took to Twitter and revealed the sales numbers for Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes, which placed 6th overall:

Konami – Metal Gear Sold V: Ground Zeroes sold 278k in the US with 204k on PS4/Xbox One. Japan has seen 340k sold. Digital #’s unknown.

This means Dark Souls 2, Call of Duty: Ghosts, South Park: The Stick of Truth, inFamous: Second Son, and Titanfall (the games that finished in the top 5) all sold over 278,000 copies, but we don’t know their exact figures.

Gibson also talked about the sales figures for the Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster, which placed in 8th:

Square Enix – did well with FF X/X-2 HD selling 208k.

Knowing the Remaster’s sales, it’s easy to see that 7th place finisher NBA 2K14 sold between 208,000 and 278,000 in March 2014.

Finally, Gibson showed the hardware sales figures for systems not named PS4, Xbox One, PS3, and Xbox 360:

Wii was 28k, Wii U just over 70k, PSP around 5k, PSV little over 10k, 3DS 159k. No Nintendo press release that I can find.

While Sony hasn’t given details about PlayStation Vita sales, we should learn more when their financials for the latest fiscal year are revealed on May 14th.
