PlayStation Responds to PS4 Finishing 1st in NPD’s March 2014 Report

Following the March 2014 NPD results from yesterday, which saw the PlayStation 4 defeat the Xbox One and lead hardware for the third month in a row, PlayStation’s Guy Longworth issued this statement in reply:

Today’s NPD report confirmed that PlayStation 4 was No. 1 in sales for March and extended its cumulative lead for next generation game consoles, despite continued supply constraints. NPD also highlighted that PlayStation sold the most total consoles and demand for inFamous: Second Son was extremely strong.

While Sony didn’t give out specifics on how many PS4’s were sold in March 2014, it’s estimated that the system sold around 370,000. This would give it a sizeable lead over the 311,000 Xbox One’s Microsoft sold last month (the Xbox 360 sold 111,000, which Microsoft says is more than the PS3 or Wii).

Also, if you were curious, Titanfall is already the 2nd highest-selling game for the Xbox One.

Do you think the PS4 will finish 1st once again in April? Let us know in the comments below.
