PS4 E3 2014 App Available for Download Now

Earlier today, Sony listed where people will be able to watch the company’s E3 press conference, and what announced games it’ll be bringing to its E3 booth. Now, if you’d rather use your PlayStation 4 to watch the event live, as opposed to your PC, laptop, mobile phone or tablet, then Sony has you covered, too.

Over on the Official PlayStation Blog, Sony announced that the PS4 E3 2014 app can now be downloaded right this very moment. Through the app, people will be able to watch the Sony press conference live via the PS4. Once the show officially starts on June 10 at 12 p.m. PDT, PlayStation fans will be able to check out trailers, and screenshots from Sony’s booth. Also of note, the app will also be let fans “see some other things” Sony will be unveiling, and even give an overview of services like PlayStation Now and PlayStation Plus.

Possibly the coolest part of the app aside from letting you watch the presser on your PS4 is that you’ll be able to unlock “perks” by using it. There will be gold and silver challenges fans can complete in the app that will grant you up to 250 Sony Rewards points, which will be available to unlock until June 24. In addition to that, other perks such as an Amazon Prime 30-day trial, and a 30-day trial for Music Unlimited is also in the cards. But the biggest incentive could very well be a PlayStation Now Private Beta invite. Each day, Sony will be handing out 6,000 of the invites and the first ones to log in early will get one.

You can download the app here if you wish. I admit, this is a rather nice move from Sony. But don’t forget, if you want the best coverage at E3, make sure to check PSLS as we’ll have our team on the show floor giving you the latest updates.
