Dying Light

Best of E3 Winner

Dan O: The zombie genre has become inundated with games looking to capitalize on its increasing popularity, but sadly more often than not games based on the topic fall short from ever really fully realizing the potential that we see in films and television. This is where Dying Light really struck me as a zombie based game that is looking to move things forward, as it goes to great lengths to take away the small corridors that look for cheap thrills and give players the freedom to truly fight for their own life. After getting some hands-on time with it at this year’s E3, it is easy to see that zombie fans will finally have a game that really speaks to the heart of the genre, while also giving gamers a sense of atmosphere and organic thrills that you can only get by running into a dark room filled with the undead and having to leap from the window to get to safety.
