Best of E3 2014 Awards: Winners and Honorable Mentions

MGSVPP

Best of E3 Winner

Alex Co: After the short appetizer that is MGSV: Ground Zeroes, the main course is now close to being served. What’s impressive and comforting with MGSV: The Phantom Pain is how Hideo Kojima is seemingly marrying Western and Japanese development strengths and rolling ’em into one package. The Phantom Pain’s impressive visuals are tied with modern day gameplay elements that are not hampered by the usual archaic Japanese-developed game mechanics that plague some Japanese games today. Kojima is in fine form with The Phantom Pain and clearly shows that when it comes to stealth and cinematic action, his offerings cannot be beat. My only concern? Let’s hope Kojima doesn’t go overboard with the story and confuses everyone including series veterans.

*Sadly, we weren’t around when Kojima put up the awards, but he did tweet a picture of it.
