Deep Down Beta Details Coming Soon

deepdownteaser

With Deep Down, Capcom’s upcoming PlayStation 4 exclusive free-to-play action RPG, getting delayed, interested gamers are no doubt clamoring for any drop of news since the latest trailer of the game from E3. Well, if you’re one of those interested gamers, today is your lucky day!

Kazunori Sugiura has updated the game’s official Facebook (and presumably, Twitter) page to relay a little bit of information regarding the game’s status, as well as a single screenshot. Yep, unfortunately only one new screenshot has trickled out of Capcom’s archives, but hey, some news is better than no news, right? Sugiura had this to say:

公開テストの詳細は7月になっちゃいそうです。

情報を楽しみにしていた皆様本当に申し訳ありません。

開発の都合というよりは

公開テストをどういうポリシーで行うべきか

チームや上司と議論中です。

お詫びに開発中のスクリーンショットを1枚ペタリ。

「怒り」の感情をテーマにしたダンジョンです。

それでは7月にまた報告しますね(-人-)

Roughly translated, it indicates that he apologies for the delay in the game’s development. Sugiura also states that he is in talks with with the development team as well as their superiors with regards to a beta (in Japan). As penance, he offers up the screenshot you can see below. We can also expect more information soon, which hopefully means this month.

Are you upset with the game’s progress, or are you happy that the development team is being given the time that they feel they need to work on the game until it is ready? Is it a lack of confidence on Capcom’s part? With Deep Down launching as a free-to-play game, it seems they want to make as big of an impact as possible to not only get people to play the game, but to keep playing it. Let us know what you think in the comments below.
