Evolve DLC Support to be Better Than “Any Game Ever Before,” Claims Turtle Rock

Turtle Rock’s Evolve might have won critics over when it was shown off at this year’s E3, but that doesn’t mean squat if the game is released and let off to die in the gaming wilderness. Well, apparently that really won’t be the case with the shooter.

Speaking to TotalXbox, studio co-founder Chris Ashton assured potential buyers that Evolve’s DLC support post-launch will be “more than any game ever before.”

It’s designed to have a long life – hopefully that works and we get to try a bunch of crazy things with the community after release. As long as people are into it and the DLC does reasonably well, then we’d like to keep making more. At the end of the day, it’s a business and it has to make sense, but we believe that we’ve built a game that does support that really well – more so than any game ever before.

Just in case you didn’t know, Turtle Rock developed Valve’s highly regarded Left 4 Dead co-op zombie shooter, which proves the studio does know how to make a fun title. Now, before you chime in that L4D didn’t see much support DLC-wise, Ashton mentions, “You know, in Left 4 Dead we could make new environments, but we really didn’t have a structure there to make new characters or zombie types, so we were pretty limited on what we could do, DLC-wise.”

Anyone looking to pick up Evolve when it launches this October 21?
