Naughty Dog: Not Considering The Last of Us 2 Will be a “Disservice” to Fans
Fans of The Last of Us will be delighted to hear that the possibility of The Last of Us 2 is being taken very seriously by Naughty Dog. Speaking to Video Gamer, Community Strategist Arne Meyer has said that not exploring options for a sequel “would be a disservice to ourselves and our fans”.
I think we always make a smart decision in that all of our games are self-contained stories so they don’t have to continue if we don’t want them to or if there’s no reason for them to continue.
Meyer said that the idea of continuing any story needs to be well-received by the team and they need to be “passionate” about it. Don’t get too excited, though, because if nothing comes out of the discussions then we might not see a sequel at all.
We’re just starting to explore ideas of what more could there be in this universe and starting that decision process. That doesn’t mean the end result is guaranteed.
Would you want to see The Last of Us 2?
