2D Shooter Rive Announced by Two Tribes, Aiming for PS4, Xbox One, Wii U, & PC
Following the Two Tribes reboot earlier this year, the developer has revealed their new game, Rive, “the metal wrecking, robot hacking shooter,” which is scheduled to release in early 2015 for “PC and consoles.”
Addressing the question of which consoles they’re targeting, Two Tribes said, “To clarify on the coming to ‘consoles’ part. We’re hoping to release it on all three platforms, but can’t 100% commit yet.” In a later tweet, Two Tribes said they’re aiming for “current-gen” platforms with Rive, and in this instance, current-gen means PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Wii U.
Two Tribes also revealed a few more details:
- “Gradius-style levels are planned!”
- “Since scoring is part of the package, expect leaderboards.”
- “It’ll have a mission structure and maybe local co-op.”
- “Vita might be able to run it, but so far targeting PC and consoles.”
