If you’ve played the Destiny beta, then chances are you’ve seen how the sci-fi shooter seems ripe for micro-transactions. be it for weapson, cosmetic add-ons and whatnot Fortunately for those not warm to the gameplay “feature,” Destiny won’t have micro-transactions — at least “currently,” according to Bungie.
In an interview, Senior Environment Artist Jason Sussman weighed in on micro-transactions and here’s what he has to say:
So currently there are no micro-transactions, everything is in-game. As you play the game, you’re finding different equipment thats coming out of different enemies or treasure chests or even within the tower you will receive different rewards that you’re rewarded within the game. It’s all built within the game.
In related news, publisher Activision has said that Bungie is optimizing Destiny based on the feedback it got from players participating in the beta.
Destiny is set for a September 9 release on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Xbox One and PS4.
