Sony Investigating PS4 CE-33945-4 Glitch, “A Very Small Number of Users” Impacted (Update)

Update 2:

If you’re here due to issues with the PlayStation Store following the release of Minecraft: PS4 Edition today, September 4, head over here for more info.

Update:

According to PlayStation Support’s Joystick_Warrior, “This issue should now be resolved. Please try accessing your games again. If you are still having the issue try restoring licenses. If even after that you are still having issues, please let us know. Thanks!

Original Story:

For the last few weeks, many users over on NeoGAF and the PlayStation forums have reported that they’ve experienced a PS4 glitch, which presents itself in the form of error code CE-33945-4 (Sony’s description of this error code is “connection to server failed,” and they recommend trying again later).

With the glitch, people are unable to play games or access services, which some say is caused by pre-ordering a game on the PlayStation Store and the cancelling it, but no official details about this glitch and its causes have been revealed by Sony.

To try to get some answers, Kotaku contacted Sony, with a rep sending them this response, explaining how the glitch is only affecting a small amount of people, and they’re making progress on possibly fixing it:

We are aware of this account issue that has affected a very small number of users. We are currently investigating the cause of the issue and have made progress toward a possible solution.

If you’re experiencing this issue, the best option is probably to contact Sony, with some users suggest rebuilding the database might fix the problem (this method could result in the loss of data though).
