The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth PS4, PS Vita Release Date Revealed

Offering up one of the weirdest trailers of all time in the process (highly NSFW), Nicalis confirmed today that The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth will be available on November 4 in North America and November 5 in Europe for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, and PC.

With one of the bullet points for the game on the Steam page revealing that there’s secret “rooms FULL OF POOP!,” “poop physics,” and “over 500 hours of gameplay,” Tyrone Rodriguez of Nicalis says The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth “combines elements of The Legend of Zelda and Smash TV with the roguelike genre.”

Featuring hundreds of items, over 450 items/weapons/power-ups and general pick-ups, over 50 bosses (including some new ones and re-tuned ones), and stackable weapons, Creator Edmund McMillen said, “It’ll be awesome to finally give console players a chance to experience the weirdest thing I’ve ever made.”

Rodriguez also addressed questions about the controls on PS4 and PS Vita:

We’ve developed the PS4 and Vita version in parallel and have made sure that the experience is as close to each other as possible. But keep in mind we’ve had to make some adjustments to buttons because PS Vita has two less shoulder buttons. No backtouch, don’t worry.

For those curious, Rodriguez confirmed that “this is the PS+ November game for North America and Europe.” There’s been no word on cross-buy.

What are your thoughts on that trailer?
