Released earlier this month through the PlayStation Store, Sony announced today that Minecraft: PS4 Edition will be coming to retail on October 3 in Europe and October 7 in North America. Amazon.com currently has the game up for pre-order at $19.99.

In order to “ensure you have the best Minecraft experience possible on the PS4,” a day 1 patch for the retail version of Minecraft: PS4 Edition will be available for download, likely addressing some of the bugs that have popped up so far.

As for Minecraft: PS Vita Edition, SCEA’s Brian Silva revealed that the release date is still a few weeks away:

In other Minecraft related news, for those waiting for the PS Vita Edition, we’ll have more information on this in a few weeks and will include all the proper info on how the cross-buy works between the PS3 and PS Vita Editions.

If you happen to own Minecraft: PS3 Edition, the update to allow save transfers to PS4 can now be downloaded.

Will you be buying the retail version of Minecraft: PS4 Edition?
