SingStar PS4, PS3 Release Date in North America Confirmed

A week after announcing the European release date, Sony has confirmed that the “new, updated version” of SingStar will release for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 on October 28 in North America.

Available as a free digital download through the PlayStation Store, you’ll be able to access the SingStore, which offers free demos and paid songs. The price of those songs won’t change from the previous version of the game, with individual songs at $1.49 and song packs containing five songs at $5.99.

Also, if you missed the news, this updated version of SingStar will work with your previously purchased songs, as Sony explains:

The best news is if you have already purchased songs from the SingStore or PSN for SingStar on PS3, then if the song is available on PS4 you will be able to download it to your PS4 at no extra charge as long as you are logged in to the same SEN account.

For those of you without a microphone, there will be a free SingStar companion app available on October 28 for Android, iPhone, and iPod Touch that allows you to use your device as a microphone with the game on either system. You can also use the app to create playlists from your SingStar library to play in game.
