The Crew Beta Progress Won’t Carry Over, Ubisoft Confirms

In news that shouldn’t really come as a shock to anyone that played a video game beta, Ubisoft has confirmed that progress in The Crew beta won’t carry over to the final game when it’s released on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One later this year.

The Crew Creative Director Julian Gerighty confirmed this saying:

I don’t think so, no, [progress won’t be saved]…This is the thing, all of our betas so far have been technical betas. They are not marketing betas. They are not there for anything else except for learning how we can make the experience better when we launch.

Gerighty adds that some features won’t be turned on for the beta, and that for those who already managed to try it out, to “save a little bit for the launch.”

They are also to get feedback from the community, but it’s not a marketing beta.” This means that players won’t be getting the full experience, “There are lots of functions that probably won’t be turned on…I know it’s frustrating, but if you know you’re going to buy the game…I know some guys on console and on Twitter texting me, ‘please get me into the console beta.’ It’s the third one that they’ve played, and I’m like, ‘just save a little bit for the launch.’

The Crew beta is set to start tomorrow, September 30, which you can sign up for here.
