Borderlands developer Gearbox Software saw the bomb disposal squad in action on Friday at its headquarter following a threat from an unknown source. President Randy Pitchford tweeted photos of the operation as it happened, and later thanked the Plano Police Department for keeping people safe. In a series of tweets, Pitchford said:

Someone is out of control! Bomb disposal unit called to Gearbox HQ parking lot to deal with car bomb threat.

I think we’re all clear. I will confirm in a few minutes. I was not allowed to get back to my car as it was parked too close!

All clear!

Thank you @PlanoPoliceDept for keeping us safe at Plano Tower tonight! Bomb Disposal Unit for the win!

Although Pitchford believed that the threat was a hoax, he said “my mind’s eye flashed every film I’ve ever seen where the car blows up when started.”

Plano Police Department has not confirmed whether the threat was a hoax or not.
